Commercial & builder questions
Are you Tier-2 prequalified?
Yes. We hold current prequalifications with several Sydney head contractors and developers. We can supply our prequal pack at award — insurance, licences, safety system overview, sample SWMS and JSAs, and previous project references.
What size commercial projects do you take on?
From small two-storey commercial fit-outs through to multi-storey buildings with 1,000m²+ floor plates and mid-rise apartment developments up to about 120 units. Larger projects we resource specifically. We'll be honest if a project is outside our wheelhouse.
Do you handle post-tensioned slabs?
Yes. We place and finish PT slabs in coordination with your PT subcontractor (typically Structural Systems or VSL). The placement standard is higher and we resource accordingly.

What's your insurance cover?
Public liability $20M, professional indemnity to project requirement, workers comp current. Certificates of currency on request.
How quickly can you mobilise?
For known clients, a placement crew can be on site inside a week. New work typically 2–3 weeks from award subject to current resourcing.
Do you work for builders directly, or via head contractors?
Both. Most commercial work is direct to head contractors, but we also work directly for developers, project managers and architects on specific scopes.
What does your retention structure look like?
Standard industry retention — typically 5% during the works, 2.5% at practical completion, balance at DLP expiry. Negotiable case by case.

Residential client questions
How much does a driveway cost?
Plain concrete driveways typically $150–200 per m². Exposed aggregate $220–300/m². Premium finishes $280–400/m². Free quote with site visit. Our Cost Calculator gives indicative pricing.
How much does a house slab cost?
Standard 200m² waffle pod slab on a Class M site is typically $20k–28k. Larger or complex sites cost more. Free quote with engineering drawings.
How long does the job take?
Driveway: 3–5 days. House slab: 5–7 days. Pool surround: 5–10 days. Floating stair: 4–8 weeks (custom formwork). Weather extends timelines — we don't pour in rain or extreme heat.
Do you provide a written quote?
Yes. After a free site visit and confirmation of scope, you'll receive a written quote within 48 hours. Quote is valid 30 days.
Do I need council approval?
Driveway replacements within the boundary don't need approval. Vehicle crossings (the section in the road reserve) do. We handle that application.
What happens if it rains on pour day?
We reschedule. We don't pour in rain — it ruins the finish and compromises the cure. If weather is marginal we call it the morning of, before concrete is on the road.
Do you remove the existing concrete?
Yes. Demolition, removal and waste disposal is part of every quote. We work with licensed waste haulers.
Do you offer a warranty?
Standard structural warranty per AS 2870/3600 and statutory warranties under the Home Building Act. Defects rectified at our cost during the DLP.

How we work
How does a typical project start?
You send drawings or describe the scope. We respond within one business day to either request more info or arrange a site visit. After the site visit, you get a written quote within 48 hours.
Do you do consultancy / advice without a job?
For architects and engineers specifying upcoming work, yes — happy to talk through specifications, finish classes, and what's achievable. For homeowners, advice is part of the quote process.
Who runs the job on site?
Each job has a nominated supervisor — typically Anthony or our senior commercial supervisor for larger work. You always have a direct line to the person making decisions on site.
How do you handle defect rectification?
In-house. Our team fixes it. Most issues caught and rectified before strip cycle. Anything in the DLP we're back on site to make right.
How do you bill?
Commercial: progress claims monthly per standard subcontract. Residential: progressive milestone billing — typically deposit, mid-job, completion. Terms negotiable.
Do you sub work out?
The structural concrete work itself is delivered by our crews. We sub specialist services (concrete pumping, soil testing, surveying, traffic control) to known suppliers.

Technical & standards
What standards do you work to?
AS 3600 for structural concrete, AS 3610 for formwork and finish classes, AS 2870 for residential slabs, AS 3727 for pavements, AS 4678 for retaining walls, AS/NZS 4671 for reinforcement.
What concrete strengths do you typically pour?
Residential slabs: typically N25 or N32. Commercial suspended slabs: typically N32 to N50 depending on the engineer's call. PT slabs: typically N50, occasionally N65 for specific structural conditions.
Do you provide pour records?
Yes — slump tests, delivery dockets, cube strength results (where called), placement temperatures, curing regime. Standard QA pack on every commercial pour.
Who do you source concrete from?
Boral, Hanson and Holcim are our main suppliers, depending on the closest plant to the job. For coloured and decorative concrete, we use the supplier whose range matches the brief — Geostone, Boral Exposé and Colori, CCS, Ablestone by Metromix or Heidelberg Imagecrete. What finish class can you achieve on formwork?
Routinely Class 2 and Class 3. Class 1 architectural off-form is achievable but requires bespoke formwork and additional cost — discuss at design stage.
Do you do swimming pool shells?
No — we focus on pool surrounds. Pool shell construction is a different specialist trade.
